This Place Matters

The new header picture is from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  I have temporarily ripped them off.  In all fairness, they emailed me the photo with no copyright or attribution.  Nice picture, whoever took it.

Now then, they have begun their Summer 2009 Places that Matter Photo Contest which lasts from now until Tuesday, September 15, 2009. The idea being that you take a photo of someplace that matters to you personally (holding their sign that says THIS PLACE MATTERS), upload it to their site, have people vote for it, and you may win a digital camera.  Motivation notwithstanding, I bet some great photos will show up.  Their website enables you to send an ecard to photographer friends with one of several familiar sights in the background.  I sent my brother the one with Fanueil Hall.  So check it out if you are so inclined:

And let me know if you did.  Always willing to vote for friends!
